Location: Fully Remote (Candidates must be based in the United States and available to work during standard, fairly flexible Pacific Time business hours).
Employment Type: Temporary, Part-Time (Independent Contractor)
Duration: 4-4.5 months, starting mid to late January 2025, with the potential for an extended contract or ongoing work
Hours: 10-15 hours per week
Rate: $40–$45/hour DOE (Depending on Experience and Skillset)
Are you a creative and strategic digital marketer passionate about making a difference? We’re a boutique agency designing intentional, ROI-focused social media and digital content strategies for purpose-driven brands and nonprofits and are seeking a Social Media Manager. This role will provide critical support during the founder's 6-week maternity leave and potentially beyond, ensuring seamless collaboration and continued success for our mission-driven clients.

The Role – Social Media Manager
We’re looking for a Social Media Manager who loves working with incredible people to do good in the world.
Responsibilities
Lead virtual Zoom meetings and daily communications with purpose-driven clients (primarily in the sustainable seafood sector and dark speculative fiction publishing industry), with typically 2-3 scheduled client calls a week.
Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as their trusted marketing partner.
Support the development and execution of impactful social media (organic and paid), newsletter, digital, and content strategies.
Oversee ongoing campaigns, ensuring deliverables align with client objectives and timelines.
Copywrite and design imaginative, bespoke social content that inspires engagement and action.
Support with community engagement.
Analyze performance metrics and provide actionable insights to optimize campaign effectiveness.
Qualifications
A passion for working with purpose-driven brands and organizations.
Creative flair with a focus on delivering measurable results.
A proactive mindset and ability to work independently.
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work under tight timelines, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong project management, collaboration, and delegation skills.
The ability to translate complex issues into clear action plans and communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders, including clients, the Fat Moon team, and external contractors.
Experience with tools like Meta Ads Manager, Canva, Mailchimp, Slack, and Asana is strongly preferred but not required.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in social media strategy, content creation, and digital marketing.
